The Way Out

I’m not sure why we even have to say it but…

I am opposed to hate filled violence…

Violence done to any man or woman - regardless of their race, nationality, or ethnicity.

Violence done to a Democrat or Republican.

Violence done to a US citizen, a visitor to our country, a refugee, or an undocumented person.

Violence done to innocent children in a school room or innocent children living inside the wombs of mothers.

Violence done to straight or gay or any other sexual orientation or identification.

Violence done to Jews, Christians, Muslims, Hindus, Buddists, and every other religious leaning.

I’m opposed to hate filled violence with guns, knives, cars, or any other object.

The desire for violence is a morality issue.

Not a political one. Yes, it may come as the result of politics out of control. It may happen as the result of family issues taken too far. It may come as the result of community problems. Regardless of where or why, it is clear we have a morality issue.

Our world is broken and we are spending more time arguing about the means and finding people to blame and trying to win arguments than we are working on the root and admitting the moral fiber of our nation continues to deteriote an alarming rate.

If we don’t fix the morality of our families, communities, nation, and world, then we aren’t fixing the violence issue. This post is not to argue over whether or not something is or isn’t legal.

Laws are important and should always be looked at with open hearts and minds. But this is a plea for us to look for ways to fix the moral thread of our country and world. This is a plea to protect the children we love by living with a moral compass .

Only love can overcome hate.

Only good can overcome evil.

I’m glad that my King Jesus is defined by love and good. Maybe He isn’t your King. Thats not my business. But if your king isn’t about love and goodness, your life needs a new king.

It is the only way out of this mess.
